A farmer from Staraya Russa is going to create a multidisciplinary farm and to develop agritourism

On February, 21 a business meeting of development institutions and the head of the peasant farm holding “NOVA RUSSA” from Staraya Russa district took place in the center “My business”.
The project of the head of the peasant farm holding “NOVA RUSSA” is aimed at creating a multidisciplinary farm producing organic products with its further supplies to the markets of Saint-Petersburg, Moscow and Novgorod region.

To achieve these aims it is planned to put into circulation additional 1000 hectares of agricultural land, to increase the number of sheep to 300, to put into operation a dairy farm with the capacity of 50 head of cattle and 300 head of goats, to create 50 new working places.
Total amount of investments will be over 1,5 million USD. Besides, it is planned to create a pond farm (aquaculture breeding) and to develop rural agritourism.

The meeting in the center “My business” was held by the director of the Center of consulting and innovations in agro-industrial sector Ignat Potapov. Deputy CEO of tourist office “Novgorod Rus” Olga Sharmiashvili, vice-rector for educational and methodical work of the Novgorod Institute for retraining and advanced training of leading personnel and Specialists for agro-industrial complex Lyudmila Bayutina, chief specialist of investment projects support department of Novgorod region development agency Yulia Alekseeva and head of the consumer market development and intellectual property support department of Novgorod innovations and industry center of the ministry of industry and trade of Novgorod region Tatiana Naumova were also invited to the meeting.
Head of the peasant farm holding “NOVA RUSSA” Dmitry Bludov discussed development of agritourism in Staraya Russa district with Olga Sharmiashvili. They also discussed the prospective of including the farm holding into the gastronomic tours in the district.

Ludmila Bayutina informed the participants of the meeting about developing a training program of certificating farm holdings according to international and Russian standards of organic agriculture.
Tatyana Naumova told in detail about the possibility to use branding “Buy goods produced in Novgorod” on the products of the peasant farm holding “NOVA RUSSA”.

Yulia Alekseeva told the participants of the meeting about the work of Novgorod region development agency and about additional manufacturing sites for agricultural manufacturing which are available in Staraya Russa district.

In the afternoon the participants of the business meeting met on the manufacturing site of the farm holding in the village of Gostezh near Staraya Russa. The farm holding was also visited by the head of Staraya Russa district Alexander Rozbaum
