Governor Andrey Nikitin met CEO of special economic zone “Alabuga” Timur Shagivaleev on August 9. SEZ “Alabuga” is a large economic site which has been operating in Tatarstan for more than 15 years and has huge experience in developing efficient projects.
According to the press service of the government, the conversation was about cooperation during creation and development of a special economic zone in Novgorod region. This is stipulated by the cooperation agreement concluded last year.
Recall that the project of creating special economic zone of industrial-manufacturing type “Novgorodskaya” was agreed at the government of Russia in the beginning of July. It’ll be located in Novgorodsky district, close to Veliky Novgorod and federal highway M-10. Total area is more than 180 hectares.
Timur Shagivaleev said that this decision of the government has several reasons, including efficiency of Novgorod region team and strategic location of the region between Moscow and Saint-Petersburg.
Timur Shagivaleev said that the work with the investors of SEZ “Nogorodskaya” has begun. One of the 1st things to do is to provide priority projects with needed infrastructure within the time the investors named. He said that Alabuga team and region representatives will have to make all possible and impossible decisions to do that.
“We are already one team”, - assured Andrey Nikitin his colleague.
The governor is ready to discuss steps which will let solve infrastructure issues within the near future.
“Documents is a good thing, but we need to understand when we at last will get new factories and new jobs, This is what Novgorodians are interested in”, - said Andrey Nikitin.
It is planned to implement projects for constructing an enterprise for microelectronic products, a modern complex for producing of medicines, a plant for producing heat and sound insulation materials based on stone wool, forming textile cluster and other projects in SEZ “Novgorodskaya”. By 2030 it is supposed that 733 jobs will be created and the volume of investments will reach more than 108 million USD.
