Business-dialogue Between Novgorod Region and Germany Took Place on March 11

The preparation before the dialogue was thorough an took several months: Novgorod region development agency together with Russian-German chamber of commerce chose business areas in Germany representatives of which can be interested in Novgorod region as a place to localize a manufacturing site. Based on this, a list of potential participants in the online meeting was compiled.

The interest to the business-dialogue among the German businessmen was big. Besides 50 entrepreneurs from Germany, the head of Federal association of SMEs Reinhold von Ungern-Sternberg took part in the meeting. The participants were greeted by deputy governor of Novgorod region Evgeny Bogdanov who noted that the cooperation of the region with Germany had been long and that economic interaction is getting stronger. Reinhold von Ungern-Sternberg also made a welcoming speech, praising the investment opportunities of the Novgorod region for German business.

Director of Novgorod region development agency Alexander Dementiev described the region, support measures for business, developing infrastructure and the Agency’s activity in detail. CEO of German economy center Ltd Boris Wittkowsky who repeatedly contacted the Agency, emphasized high professionalism of the staff and promptness of fulfilling requests and providing information.

Heads of Novgorod companies Novtruck and Mechanical Engineering Service shared their experience in doing business. Both companies have been working in the region for over 20 years. Their heads told that the conditions for creating and doing business in the region are becoming more favorable every year. The speakers emphasized readiness of heads and authorities of Novgorod region to provide assistance in solving a variety of issues and the ability of the education system to adapt to the needs of each particular enterprise, preparing the necessary specialists.

Due to the business-dialogue the entrepreneurs from Germany got detailed information about Novgorod region and contacts which can be useful for them in future.
