Estates in Novgorod Region are Looking for Owners

Abandoned noble estates and other old buildings can be bought in the region. 12 objects of historical value are planned to be auctioned as a part of the regional priority project “Cultural heritage into the right hands”.
Department of property relations of the regional ministry of the investment policy, part of the buildings is sold just for a ruble. At the same time, the future owner is obliged to restore the building and preserve the appearance of a cultural monument. The land plot in this case is purchased for its market price.

Concerning several buildings, their initial prices is defined by independent appraisers, as it was done, i.e., with the 18th century estate Zhadiny in Borovichi district. The estate complex is located on the right bank of Msta. The department explained that there is no data about the exact date of building the estate and about its 1st owners. At the end of the 19th century it belonged to the heirs of Gerasim Hludov.
Time has not been kind to the most part of the farmsteads and residential buildings, of the park of the former mansion. However, the buildings which have survived to this day are not only for the soul. After the reconstruction they will return to life and will bring profit to the new owner. The employees of the department are convinced that the competent use of estates can be a successful business project, for example, in tourism.

Recall that this summer the ministry together with the inspectorate for the state protection of cultural heritage and tourism office “Novgorod Rus” are starting the cultural-educational video-project Novgorod estates (#Новгородские_Усадьбы). In the 1st season of the project 7 videos about the estates which have survived to this day will be made. Each of these videos will acquaint the viewers with the estates, their mysteries and legends and tell about people who lived and created in them. Besides, routes which anyone can walk along in future on their own, will be developed after filming.
