In January – June Novgorod export support center helped 22 companies to start exporting. This is twice as many as during the same period of 2019. Total amount of export contracts signed with the support of the center is 7 million USD.
Gluten-free cereals, honey products, children's clothes, semi-trailers, embroidery kits, soft toys, electrical components are among the supplied goods. Novgorod exporters found their customers in Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Sweden, China, Estonia, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Lithuania, Moldavia and other countries.
Director of Novgorod export support enter Tatyana Lavrentieva told that coronavirus changed the work plans of the center. So, they had to temporarily abandon a part of the planned activities, for example, business missions. The best exporters of 2019 among small and medium-sized business were chosen in absentia. At the same time, the pandemic encouraged to access international electronic trade platforms more actively. 6 of 22 companies started to work abroad via Internet.
Via ebay people in the USA, Italy, Israel, Spain buy Novgorod teas. Electrical components and leather goods are also sold via this platform. They are bought in Italy and Great Britain.
Via Etsy our Christmas-tree balls are sold in the USA and France, dishes with birch bark elements – in the USA and Ireland, jewelry in ancient Russian style – in the USA and Slovenia. People in the USA also became interested in wooden containers for bulk dry products.
Besides, the export center with the help of the regional ministry of investment policy, placed the information about products and services of Novgorod companies on such electronic platforms as Europages, DTAD, All.biz, Alibaba. It is planned to start working on Amazon, Fordaq and Epinduo.
