On June 3 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to the Russian Federation Pierre Levy visited the booth of Novgorod region. First deputy governor Veronica Minina introduced the region. Director of Novgorod region development agency Alexander Dementiev and director of the Center of export support Tatiana Lavrentieva also took part in the meeting. It was the 1st meeting of the Ambassador of France with the representatives of Novgorod region, so the quests listened to a detailed description of the region. 2021 has been declared the Cross Year of interregional cooperation between Russia and France. There is a wide range of possibilities for cooperation in different areas – investments, export, tourism, culture. E.g., French people can participate in the annual theater festival named after Fyodor Dostoevsky, which the Ambassador himself is aware of in detail.
Possibility of organizing business-missions was also discussed. Unfortunately, the time for the meeting was short, but the sides agreed to strengthen twin-cities’ ties and to establish close cooperation. Novgorod region is open for work with the Republic of France.
