New regional support measures for organisations and employees engaged in scientific and innovative activities in the region will commence in the Novgorod Region from 2023. These organisations include residents of the Novgorod SEZ and technology parks. This was announced at a meeting of the Novgorod Region Governor’s Council on Higher Education and Science.
“I would like to note the significant changes towards the development of infrastructure and support for scientific and technological activities on the territory of the Novgorod Region. In the Novgorod Region, the innovation sector is actively developing thanks to the proactive and coordinated actions of the government, the university, and members of the scientific community. Therefore, I am sure that all the new goals and objectives will be achieved with the participation of the council members,” said First Deputy Governor of the Novgorod Region, Evgeny Bogdanov.
As a reminder, as of today, two enterprises have been granted resident status in the SEZ; they plan to launch their production at the end of 2023. In addition, 31 companies have resident status in the technology park.
The Special Economic Zone and technology parks function within the framework of the “Formation and Development of Modern Infrastructure in the Novgorod Region for Entities Involved in Investment and Business Activities in 2022” priority regional project. It is aimed at the increase of investment activity and support of small and medium business.
