Novgorod region and TUI tour operator strengthened their cooperation

For the first time in the experience of our region and the biggest tour operator of the country the plan of joint activities was signed online.

On May, 26 the plan of activities on developing cooperation in tourism between Novgorod region and LLC “TT-Travel” (TUI) for the years 2020 – 2021 was signed in the center “My business”. On behalf of the region it was endorsed by deputy head of government Elena Kirilova, on behalf of TT-travel – deputy CEO for government relations and communication of TUI Russia Alexander Sirchenko.

According to experts, domestic tourism will be especially in demand in the near future. That’s why it is important to do everything to support tourism industry of the region.
“Today’s situation with the coronavirus pandemic is making its adjustments. It’s a challenge for us, but the crisis opens new possibilities: for improving the quality of offers for tourists, forming new interesting tourist products. It’s today when it is important to reorient Russian tourists to domestic destinations, to offer them high-quality alternatives for the products of the foreign market”, - noted Elena Kirilova.

Minister of investment policy of Novgorod region Denis Nosachev in his tur noted that the region started to gradually soften restrictions. In the half of the districts, hotels and other accommodation organizations restarted their work provided that they follow a number of conditions. The region is getting ready to meet guests, to organize safe recreation of high quality.
“Russian citizens are aimed at short, inexpensive and most importantly safe holiday”, - emphasized Alexander Sirchenko.

He drew attention to the fact that TUI and Novgorod region will during the nearest year and a half promote the existing joint tourism products and develop new ones, jointly monitor the situation in tourism, hold press-tours.
Today TUI has 120 so called “weekend tours”, 25 of which are in Novgorod. Event tourism is developing in the region along with traditional cultural, educational and religious tourism.  Author’s excursions are popular.

Acting CEO of the tourist office “Novgorod Rus” Olga Sharmiashvili notes that tourist offer of the region is various and will be interesting for the most experienced travelers. Thrill seekers also come to Novgorod land.  Fans of active recreation go rafting along the rapids of Msta, go downhill skiing in Malaya Vishera and Lyubytino districts. Along with all these, hotel business is developing, and restaurateurs treat their guests with traditional dishes of Novgorod cuisine.  Gastronomic tourism is gaining momentum.

Let’s add that the plan of activities was signed within the agreement on cooperation with LLC “TT-Travel” which had been signed by the region in 2017 during Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum. It, inter alia, provides for the development of inbound and domestic tourism in the region, as well as the creation of new interregional brand routes.
