On 26 December, three projects of potential residents of the Novgorod Special Economic Zone were presented at the Investment Council under the Governor of the Novgorod Region.
For example, Marshall FT OOO wants to launch production of car components in the SEZ.
“We have been on the market for nearly twenty years. We deal in a full range of car parts. We are one of the top 5 distributors in Russia. Our products are sold in Russia and the CIS. We have our own brand. Initially, we specialised in suspension elements for trucks; today we offer about 8,000 items,” says Denis Letunov, CEO of Marshall FT OOO.
After the leading brands left Russia, he said, domestic producers had the opportunity to develop. Marshall FT is linking its future to the Novgorod SEZ. In the first stage, the investor plans to start production of filters and create at least 60 jobs in the rented premises. The investment volume will amount to 310 million rubles. The next step is to build its own space and reach full capacity by the fourth quarter of 2026.
By January 2024, TK Doksal OOO intends to set up production of aluminium profiles in the SEZ.
“In the first quarter of next year, we expect to receive resident status. In November — December 2023, to make trial batches of products. In 2024, we will produce 1,000 tonnes of products. When the plant reaches full capacity by 2026, it will be about 12,000 tonnes. The total investment volume will amount to 586 million rubles. The average salary will be 74,500 rubles. We will employ 121 specialists, about 100 of whom will be from Novgorod,” described Victor Shchipletsov, CEO of TK Doksal OOO.
Technograd Nord OOO is ready to hire 95 people after the opening of a facility in the SEZ to produce professional thermal cooking equipment. Reaching design capacity is planned for the 2nd quarter of 2025. Sergey Zolotov, the deputy CEO for general issues at Technograd Nord OOO, noted that 316 million rubles need to be invested in the modern production facility. The products will be in demand by companies in the HoReCa segment, restaurants, hotels, cafés, canteens, food courts, as well as educational and medical institutions.
All three investors will soon be submitting applications for residency to the SEZ’s expert council.
As a reminder, there are currently two residents of the Novgorod SEZ: PREFABRIKA SEVEROZAPAD OOO with the investment project “Construction of a plant for the production of prefabricated heavy and lightweight concrete houses” and Novgorod Electric Systems OOO with the investment project “Construction of a plant for the production of complete switchgear and 0.4–220 kV transformer (switchgear) substations”.
SEZ functions within the framework of the “Formation and Development of Modern Infrastructure in the Novgorod Region for Entities Involved in Investment and Business Activities in 2022” priority regional project. It is aimed at the increase of investment activity and support of small and medium business.
