On December 4, the results of the 9th National Rating of the Investment Attractiveness of Russia's Special Economic Zones were announced in Moscow. The Novgorod Special Economic Zone is ranked 9th in the country in the category of industrial and production-type special economic zones and port special economic zones. In addition, the Novgorod Special Economic Zone was awarded a diploma in the "Breakthrough of the Year" category.
- Last year, the Novgorodskaya SEZ was ranked 16th in its category, and this year it was ranked 9th. This indicates that the region is moving in the right direction. We are actively developing the SEZ's infrastructure and creating a comfortable business environment. Tax incentives and unique conditions allow investors to reduce risks and financial burdens, as well as speed up decision-making processes. This year, three companies were granted the status of resident of the Novgorodskaya SEZ: manufacturers of non-woven textile materials made of polyethylene fibers; housings and components for LED lamps; and metal powders, special paints, and their components, - said Evgeny Bogdanov, First Deputy Governor of the Novgorod Region.
There are currently 15 residents in the Novgorod Special Economic Zone. Eight of them have launched their own production facilities, investing 3.8 billion rubles and creating almost 650 jobs. The Special Economic Zone operates as part of the priority regional project "Formation and Development of Modern Infrastructure for Investment and Entrepreneurial Activities in the Novgorod Region." This project is also aimed at achieving the goals of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy."
The SEZ rating has been conducted since 2017 by the Association of Clusters, Technology Parks, and SEZs of Russia, with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. The rating aims to identify the most competitive special economic zones that provide optimal conditions for the implementation of investment projects.
