Presentation of economic and investment potential, of international and foreign economic ties of Novgorod region took place in the Foreign Ministry Mansion.
Novgorod region development agency organized this important event.
The presentation was visited by representatives of the government authorities, diplomatic corps, businessmen and journalists.
The participants of the presentation were greeted by the foreign minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov:
“Today due to its geographic location, significant scientific and production potential, Novgorod region has occupied a solid position among dynamically developing federal subjects”.
He reminded that Scandinavian companies are working efficiently in the region, contacts with partners from Asia and America are being established.
The governor of Novgorod region Andrey Nikitin told to the guests about economic development of the region and plans to establish ties with foreign investors: « Our key challenges are to keep and to increase what the region has today. It is impossible without sustainable economic development of the region. We managed to create one of the most flexible system of supporting the investors. We try to be always among the first ones which start to implement initiatives and programmes announced by our President.”
CEO of IKEA Dmitry Almukhametov and CEO of “Splat Glombal” Evgeny Demin told about work of their companies.
The guests showed a big interest to the presentation.

“Representatives of our companies, of our museum got acquainted with many heads of foreign representations: European, American, African. Maybe it will open new prospects for cultural and economic cooperation for us” – commented Andrey Nikitin upon the results of the presentation.
“The more we talk about ourselves, the more chances appear for workplaces, new investments”, - said the governor.
“Ministry of foreign affairs gave huge credence to our region. Such presentations are held only twice a year. The queue is significant. It is very important that the colleagues “stretched” it and let us organize the presentation in spring,” – quoted the press-center of the government the words of the head of the region.
Let’s remind that in December, 2018 during the session of the Council of heads of the federal subjects of the RF in the Foreign Ministry of Russia chaired by Sergey Lavrov a meeting took place. The governor of Novgorod region Andrey Nikitin and his first deputy Veronica Minina took part in this meeting. During this meeting the foreign ministry was informed about the willingness of the regional authorities to continue active work with tour operators in 2019.
Another meeting of Andrey Nikitin and Sergey Lavrov took place in July, 2018. The foreign minister is the chairman of the Stewardship council of white-water slalom Federation of Russia, and he provides a big help in development of this kind of sports in Novgorod region.
