Businessmen from Kazakhstan Got Themselves Familiar with Novgorod Enterprises

Representatives of Kazakhstan business circles, Magnum Cash&Carry LLP and Prima Distribution LLP, worked in the Novgorod Region for two days. The first is the largest retail chain in Kazakhstan, one of the top ten most powerful private companies in the Republic. It is engaged in sale of consumer goods. The company owns more than 200 retail complexes of various formats: hypermarkets, supermarkets and neighbourhood stores. Prima Distribution LLP works in the area of food products and household cleaning goods distribution. On the initiative of the Novgorod Export Support Centre, employees of these companies came to the Novgorod Region to meet local businessmen and get familiar with the local products.

On 19 April the guests visited Velikonovgorodsky Myasnoy Dvor and Lactis, after which they held individual negotiations with representatives of 10 Novgorod enterprises at Moy Biznes (My Business) Centre.

“Our Region and the Republic of Kazakhstan have always had strong partner relations. This fact is affirmed by the cooperation agreement signed between the Novgorod Region Government and Akimat of the Ulytau Region last November. Products manufactured by the Novgorod companies are known on the market of Kazakhstan. The Novgorod Region traditionally exports to Kazakhstan a wide range of goods, in particular, ceramic articles, footwear, bedclothes, wood articles, as well as various equipment. This country is among the TOP 10 states of particular interest for our exporters, and one of the priority markets for us. We are convinced that products of the Novgorod manufacturers which you will get to know during your visit will interest you. And that in the nearest future new contracts will be signed,” Deputy Minister of Investment Policy of the Novgorod Region Sergey Shvedkin said to participants of the meeting held at Moy Biznes Centre.

Dmitry Petrov, Commercial Director of the Novgorod Confectionery Factory, was among those who took part in the negotiations. According to him, the company is actively looking for partners in Russia and in the former Soviet Union countries.

“We sell our articles in Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. Negotiations with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are underway. We signed a contract for delivery to one of the store chains in Azerbaijan. At present we do not have an active partner in Kazakhstan, so this meeting seemed to be very interesting and potentially advantageous for us,” Dmitry Petrov shared.

The guests also visited two Novgorod enterprises, Mechanics LLC and Aurora Borealis LLC.

We will also mention that the Novgorod Export Support Centre has a visit of business people from India scheduled for the summer. The Centre holds activities for export-oriented entities of the Region with support of the Investments Ministry within the framework of the “International Cooperation and Export” and “Small and Medium Entrepreneurship” National Projects.
