The governor of the Novgorod region Andrey Nikitin participated in the presentation of the brand of group of companies “Slotex” – the leader of domestic market for the production of finishing materials. They presented a line of products called "Extravert", which will be produced in the village of Podberezye, Novgorod Region, on the premises of the former large furniture company IKEA Industry Novgorod. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Oleg Bocharov, General Director of Slotex LLC Vadim Osipov.
The deal on the purchase of the assets of the Swedish IKEA by a Russian company was completed in March with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. A woodworking enterprise in the Novgorod region has received a new name of Extrovert LLC.
“Once IKEA standards were something quite unusual for our country and our region. This plant played an important role in the development of the regional industry, showing how to organise production, how to work, how to care for people and the environment. This stage has passed. And now we can, we will and we are succeeding in building our own modern industry, which is of interest not only to us, but also abroad. "Extrovert" will be part of this process. We will do everything in our power to support and develop this enterprise.” quotes the press service of the government of Andrey Nikitin.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Oleg Bocharov noted that the government of the region has taken an active part in the process of resuming the production of the former IKEA.
The products of Slotex Group of Companies are used in the furniture industry, for interior decoration, in transport, in the production of doors, and for exterior decoration of buildings. Deliveries go to the Russian regions and for export. The enterprise has every opportunity to expand production: in the next three years, additional investments in development will amount to 2-3 billion roubles.
A plant for the production of boards (chipboard) has now begun to operate, the launch of a furniture factory is expected in the second half of 2023.
Extrovert LLC will continue the traditions of product quality and high production culture of the previous company. Vadim Osipov noted that the enterprises of the Slotex Group of Companies also prioritise issues of environmental protection, and this is the basis for the work of the new production of LLC Extrovert. An important element is the fact that qualified personnel have been retained here - at the time the plant was launched, 307 people worked at it, today - more than 350 employees.
The nearest plans include the development of several areas: the production of laminated chipboard, furniture components and high-quality components. In the future, we plan to release a line of cabinet furniture under our own brand.
