Government Will Support Technology Parks Development in Electronics Industry

The government is launching a programme to support infrastructure development for industrial technology parks whose residents specialise in electronics manufacturing.

The new instrument will allow partial reimbursement of the costs of technology park management companies for the design, construction or modernisation of industrial infrastructure facilities, the purchase of equipment, and the technological connection of industrial buildings to engineering networks. The total funding for the new programme between 2023 and 2025 will amount to 7.2 billion rubles. The funds will be allocated under the state programme “Development of the Electronic and Radio Electronic Industry”.

Technology parks applying for funding must first undergo a regional and then a federal selection process. In order to become a participant in the regional selection process, the total area of existing buildings or buildings under construction on the technology park territory must exceed 10,000 square metres. The new support mechanism will make it possible to create technology competence centres and collaborative design centres that will help the industrial development of the technologies included in the Strategy for Development of Electronics Industry until 2030.

Industrial parks and technology parks are special sites prepared for the implementation of manufacturing, high tech, scientific and technical projects and developments. These sites create the conditions to ensure a rapid start up of production, to test new technologies and to introduce products to the market.

As a reminder, there are four industrial sites in the Novgorod Region that have technology park status. They function within the framework of the “Formation and Development of Modern Infrastructure in the Novgorod Region for Entities Involved in Investment and Business Activities in 2022” priority regional project. It is aimed at the increase of investment activity and support of small and medium business.
