The Novgorod Region will receive 372.5 million rubles from the federal budget to implement an investment project to create the Transvit Industrial Technology Park in Veliky Novgorod. Together with the Novgorod Region’s application for federal funding, a group of experts from the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation considered another 20 applications from other regions. Along with the Novgorod Region, the projects of the Kurgan Region, the Republics of Karelia and Khakassia, and the Altai Krai were at the top of the rating.
The Novgorod project envisages the construction of over 6,000 square metres of additional space to accommodate residents, an engineering centre and a congress and exhibition hall by 2024. Its implementation will make it possible to create more than 200 new jobs and attract at least 200 million rubles additional investments.
The technology park will aim to commercialise innovative start ups, research and development results. It will complement the ecosystem of support for innovative entrepreneurship, becoming an important part of it, focused on the production and sale of innovative products.
As a reminder, four technology parks have already been established in the Novgorod Region. They function in the Novgorod Region within the framework of the “Formation and Development of Modern Infrastructure in the Novgorod Region for Entities Involved in Investment and Business Activities in 2022” priority regional project aimed at the increase of investment activity and support of small and medium business.
