More Than 400 People Will Be Working at the New Facilities Near Veliky Novgorod

At the meeting of the Novgorod Region Governor’s Council for Improvement of Investment Climate two investors at once shared their plans for doing business in the region.

Thus, a prefabricated houses manufacturing plant will be built on the territory of Novgorodskaya Special Economic Zone. According to General Director of JSC Prefabrika AG Aleksandr Gornov, the choice of Novgorod Region for implementation of this project was not a mere coincidence. Residence at the SEZ will make it possible to ensure considerable reduction of production cost. Around 270 jobs will be created at the production facility. The amount of investment in the project will constitute over 3 billion rubles.

An important aspect that both the investor and the region’s head Andrey Nikitin pointed out is that start of production will promote the development of housing construction and related industries, and not only in our region. Prefabricated houses from the Novgorod Region will be sold across the whole Northwest.

Construction of the plant will start in the fourth quarter of 2023. After the production facility reaches its full capacity in 2026, it is planned to produce 225 thousand square meters of housing.

As we already mentioned, the agreement on cooperation was signed by Andrey Nikitin and Aleksandr Gornov on the 15th of June at Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum. It is also worth mentioning that the SEZ functions in the Novgorod Region within the framework of the “Formation and Development of Modern Infrastructure in the Novgorod Region for Entities Involved in Investment and Business Activities in 2022” priority regional project aimed at the increase of investment activity and support of small and medium business.

The project connected with creation of Holmgard ethnic settlement in Novgorodsky District also has a social dimension to it.

“We are planing to open a cultural theme park for modern, comfortable pastime because demand for domestic tourism is growing rapidly. It will be a worthwhile place of rest with immersion in history and nature,” investor Aleksandr Barkovsky said.

Construction of the park began in November 2021. Holmgard will start receiving visitors in 2023. By 2027, in addition to the cultural theme park, on the plot exceeding 60 ha there will be a glamping and a camping, a restaurant, a recreation camp, an eco-farm and a hotel. Around 150 people will be working at Holmgard in five years from now. The amount of investment in the project will constitute 1.1 billion rubles.
