On May 19, Pestovo hosted the launch of a pellet plant with a capacity of 60 thousand tons of wood-fuel pellets per year. These are new production areas of the Pestovsky timber industry complex, which is part of the Ustyanskaya timber processing company group of companies.

The Arkhangelsk company came to Novgorod region in 2017. During this time, a large-scale reconstruction of the oldest Pestovsky sawmill in our region was carried out. Investments in the modernization of production lines and production sites of the company amounted to almost 1.4 billion rubles.

The event to launch the pellet plant was attended by the Governor of Novgorod region Andrey Nikitin.
"Today it is the largest enterprise of this type in Novgorod region. From the point of view of technical equipment, I think that the best enterprise", – said the head of the region.

The three-year investment program of ULK group enabled us to combine the company's raw materials capabilities in Arkhangelsk and Vologda regions with the production capabilities of a sawmill in the Novgorod region.

"The company is fully provided with raw materials imported from outside the Novgorod region. Our processing capacity exceeds our raw material capacity. We have had this problem for a long time. For this plant, there was only a chance that it would be bought by a business that has its own raw material base and will bring the transformation of the production process to its logical end. And this chance has been realized thanks to the ULK group of companies, " said Timofey Gusev, Deputy Prime Minister of Novgorod region.

According to Vladimir Butorin, General Director of the Ustyansk timber processing company, with the launch of the pellet plant, the company will work on the principle of waste-free production: a closed cycle has been formed here, and resource-saving technologies have been applied. The company plans to significantly increase the output of high-quality products that are exported.
