A memorandum of cooperation between the Government of the Novgorod Region and the Akimat of the Ulytau Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan was signed as part of the Interregional Cooperation Forum on the Removal of Infrastructural Constraints of International Trade. The event took place in Orenburg. The document was signed by First Deputy Governor of Novgorod Region Evgeny Bogdanov and First Deputy Akim of the Ulytau Region, Aman Barikenov.

The memorandum will make it possible to develop long term and comprehensive ties in trade and economic, scientific and technical and socio cultural spheres in the following areas: industry, energy and trade, construction, transport and urban economy, agriculture and food, information technology, sports and tourism, health, education, science and technology, culture and art.

“Cooperation between the Novgorod Region and the Republic of Kazakhstan has been developing for many years. We are interested in further maintaining and strengthening production and technological ties between our entities. I am confident that the signing of the memorandum will create favourable conditions for the development of joint projects in the most important areas for our regions,” said Evgeny Bogdanov.

The volume of Novgorod’s exports to the Republic of Kazakhstan increases every year. While our region delivered more than $33 million worth of products in 2019, in 2021 it delivered nearly $50 million worth of products.
