The region continues to increase the volumes of supplies of its goods abroad.
Ministry of investment policy of Novgorod region informs that North-Western Customs Authority summed up the results of external economic activity of the region for the 1st half of the year. Foreign trade turnover of Novgorod region compared to the same period in 2018 increased by 14% and amounted to 1012,7 million USD. Out of this amount, export is 747,3 million USD, which is 9% more than in January – June 2018.
The ministry underlines that the region started to export 11 times more to the United Arab Emirates and 10 times more to Latvia. Export geography in general expanded by 9 countries and the list of importers includes 91 country.
Traditionally, Novgorod region actively supplies products of chemical industry, wood, pulp and paper products, different equipment. Accordingly, the list of the largest exporters of the region includes: PJSC “Arcon”, LLC “Vector”, LLC “UPM-Kymmene Chudovo”, LLC “Ikea Industry Novgorod”, LLC “Hasslacher Norica Timber”, LLC “Setnovo”, LLC “PFK-Service”, LLC “Splat”, JSC “Borovichi refractories plant”, JSC “Energomash”. In total, according to the results of the first half of the year, there are 172 exporters in the region.
Let’s remind that support of export in Novgorod region is carried out within implementing regional component of two national projects: “Small and medium business and support of individual business initiative” and “International cooperation and export”.
