Novgorodskaya Special Economic Zone Now Has 7 Residents

The status of the Novgorod Special Economic Zone residents was granted to Energotec LLC and KhST LLC. The Russian Ministry of Economic Development has issued the relevant certificates. This brings the total number of SEZ residents to seven.

Energotec will launch production of polymer systems for cable laying and protection in the SEZ. The investor’s contribution will exceed 150 million roubles (excluding VAT). The company will need about 50 professionals. Production is scheduled to start at the end of this year and reach full capacity in 2025. SEZ representatives point out that Energotec has been successfully operating in the market for the past 8 years, producing heat-resistant pipes for cable laying. The company pioneered the domestic development of polymer tubes for current leak detection. These are used to identify and locate cable sheath faults.

For its part, KhST Company plans to open a factory in the SEZ for the production of polymer superconcentrates. The investment volume will exceed 450 million roubles (excluding VAT). The company will create over 120 jobs. According to representatives of the Novgorodskaya Special Economic Zone, the company works with a wide range of industries, from the production of packaging materials to the automotive industry. Production will be under way in the first quarter of next year.

It is worth noting that the first two SEZ residents will build plants for the production of prefabricated houses and metal-clad switchgear (Prefabrika Severo-Zapad LLC) and transformer (distribution) substations (Novgorod Electric Systems LLC). Novye Truby JSC, which manufactures polyethylene pipes, Zavod Promyshlennogo Oborudovaniya LLC, which manufactures industrial electrical equipment, and Marshall FT LLC, which manufactures autofilters, were also granted resident status.

Novgorodskaya SEZ is created in partnership with SEZ Alabuga and functions within the framework of the Formation and Development of Modern Infrastructure in the Novgorod Region for Entities Involved in Investment and Business Activities priority regional project. It aims to increase investment activity, support small and medium-sized enterprises and achieve the objectives of the National Small and Medium Enterprises Project.
