Tatyana Ilyushnikova, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Meets Novgorod Entrepreneur-Mothers

Tatyana Ilyushnikova, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, visited the My Business Centre in Novgorod to observe its work and talk to its residents. She was accompanied by Yevgeny Bogdanov, First Deputy Governor of the Novgorod Region, and Denis Nosachev, Minister of Investment Policy of the region. She also met with the participants of the Mompreneur educational project and answered their questions.

The deputy minister noted that by 10 September this year in the Novgorod region registered 20201 subjects of small and medium-sized enterprises, including 19,403 micro-enterprises, 739 small enterprises and 59 medium enterprises.

“We are similar in many ways: you are entrepreneurs, I’m a manager. All of us have families. I’m busy with work, you’re busy with business. The question is how to strike a balance, how to prevent job burnout. To help you find the answers to your inner questions, we have designed the Mompreneur programme. Social entrepreneurship is the choice of many women. For example, among the projects presented in the Novgorod programme, there are 2 inclusive projects: a workshop and a tourism project. Such projects are eligible for grants. Social enterprises and young entrepreneurs will receive 25 million roubles in 2022 and 37 million roubles in 2023,” Tatyana Ilyushnikova told the project participants.

The Deputy Minister also stressed the importance of communication in such projects and the value of having own brands to help attract customers.

Yevgeny Bogdanov, First Deputy Governor of the Novgorod Region, noted that the Mompreneur project has been running in the region since 2016. This is one of the most popular My Business Centre programmes. Once empowered, mothers also benefit from other support measures.

“Currently, the 12 residents of the My Business Centre offer a total of around 250 services. Around 5,000 small and medium-sized enterprises and self-employed people use them each year. The centre hosts over 200 events a year for entrepreneurs in the Novgorod region. The centre is a magnet for entrepreneurs and initiatives. Businesses come here with new ideas for support, advice and opportunities,” Yevgeny Bogdanov said.

As a reminder, the My Business Centre was opened in Veliky Novgorod in 2019 with the support of the Ministry of Investment as part of the national project on small and medium entrepreneurship.
