The agreement between the Novgorod region and the SME corporation was concluded at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. It was signed by Andrey Nikitin, governor of the Novgorod region, and Alexander Isaevich, the CEO of the SME corporation.
“We can see the result of our joint work not only in words and paper, but also in how support for small businesses is developing. Most importantly, all this happens with attention to each particular company. Five years ago, we were in the top ten worst in terms of the share of SMEs in the economy, despite all the Novgorod traditions. Now it has become better, but we still have to grow. Many thanks to colleagues from the SME Corporation for helping us.” emphasised Andrey Nikitin.
The agreement is concluded with the aim of expanding interaction to improve the system of measures to support small and medium-sized businesses and the self-employed, and to develop new areas of cooperation.
“A special role is given to the Digital Platform SME.RF, created thanks to the national project "Small and Medium Enterprises". It will help to increase the availability of support measures, including financial. It is very important to enable small and medium businesses to attract additional funding. For this, the national project also provides guarantee support, including “umbrella” guarantees, which will help in the absence or shortage of collateral. In addition, several programmes of concessional lending are being implemented - entrepreneurs can receive borrowed funds for various purposes, including investment,” said Alexander Isaevich.
The Novgorod region has been cooperating with the corporation since its inception. This is enshrined in the 2016 agreement. Entrepreneurs of the region actively use the property, financial and educational support of the corporation, including through the Digital Platform MSP.RF. The current preferential anti-crisis programmes allow entrepreneurs to attract funding for the implementation of significant projects.
In 2022, 115 Novgorod entrepreneurs received funding with the help of guarantees from members of the National Guarantee System (NGS), which is operated by the SME Corporation, for a total amount of more than 1.5 billion roubles. At the same time, there is an increase in the consolidated volume of financial support within the framework of the NGS and the number of entrepreneurs who received it. This became possible thanks to the launch of the mechanism of "umbrella" guarantees. As of June 1, more than 80 companies in the region have attracted financing totalling more than 500 million roubles using the “umbrella” guarantees of the SME Corporation since the launch of the tool in September 2021.
In 2022, more than 200 Novgorod entrepreneurs took part in various educational programmes of the SME Corporation, and this year there are already about 100. Six educational programmes and four trainings are planned for this year. Traditionally popular in the region are such projects of the SME Corporation as "The ABC of Entrepreneur", "School of Entrepreneurship" and "Mom Entrepreneur".
Joint work will continue in terms of marketing, property and legal support for SMEs, providing services to corporations through the MFC, expanding the share of participation of small and medium-sized businesses in the procurement of companies with state participation, and developing systems for teaching the basics of entrepreneurship.
