The Novgorod Region retained its fifth position in the investment climate rating

On June 15, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the results of the National rating of the state of the investment climate in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation were presented. The Novgorod region took the 5th place in it, securing last year's position. Also, the region has the 5th place in the index of effectiveness of the implementation of the Regional Investment Standard and the 2nd place in the country in the direction of the rating “Institutions for Business”.

“We understand how the situation for business has changed at the present time, and not only for the better. And this assessment shows not only the general state of the investment climate, but also the measures we are taking to support businesses in the new economic reality. Colleagues from the Agency for Strategic Initiatives carry out this rating very seriously and harshly, and I am grateful to them and, of course, to our entrepreneurs, for the high ratings,” said Andrey Nikitin, governor of the Novgorod region.

The head of the region emphasised that the key value of the rating is the identification of weaknesses in the development of conditions for entrepreneurship. Andrey Nikitin plans to analyse in detail all the nuances of the existing rating at the investment council in the government of the Novgorod region.

“We have built stable relations with business and are constantly communicating within the framework of business associations, investment council. Positive changes in terms of attitude to business and development of the region for comfortable living, for attracting qualified personnel can be seen - this is also important for business. Entrepreneurs see our efforts and consistently confirm our place.” said Evgeny Bogdanov, First Deputy Governor of the Novgorod Region.

The National Investment Climate Rating evaluates the efforts of regional authorities to create favourable conditions for entrepreneurial activity. Recall that business support in the region is carried out within the framework of the national project "Small and Medium Enterprises".
