On 6 December a new production facility was opened in the Novgorod District by Armaturz LLC, a resident of the Gagarin Technology Park. The opening ceremony was attended by the Novgorod Region Minister of Investment Policy Denis Nosachev, management of the company and of KOMPENZ Scientific and Production Corporation LLC that Armaturz is a part of, Member of the Novgorod Regional Duma Nikolay Veriga, Director of the Novgorod Region Development Agency Viktor Bykov, management of Intelligent Electronics – Valdai Innovation, Science and Technology Centre, and students of the Technology College. They undergo practical training and work at Armaturz.
70 specialists will be working at the new 1,400-square metre production facility. The amount of investment already made in its creation is nearing 150 million roubles.
“This production facility is designed and built in accordance with state-of-the-art technologies. It is provided with high-performance equipment which will enable us to increase the production volume, improve quality of manufactured products, create a comfortable and safe work environment for our employees,” said Andrey Korablev, General Director of Armaturz LLC.
Denis Nosachev emphasised the importance of developing high-technology production, especially on the premises of the Technology Park.
“Getting back to production is the latest trend. And the state support is directed towards the real sector of economy, the processing industry. The investors themselves, the enterprise owners, have understood that these are the very areas to invest in. What is happening here, what is being done by the KOMPENZ Group, is very important for the region’s economy. Development of Armaturz and the corporation’s other enterprises means high-performance jobs, decent wages. Here the people are doing what they are supposed to do. The process of sharing experience with younger employees is well-arranged. The KOMPENZ Group is a reliable partner for the region,” says Denis Nosachev.
According to Ilyas Yagofarov, Manager of the Board of Directors at Kompenz Scientific and Production Corporation, opening of the new production facility is only the first part of the strategic plan.
“We present a new enterprise with complete production tooling, which puts unique articles into production. But also today we are breaking ground for two more new production buildings,” Ilyas Yagofarov said.
The area of the future production facility will be 540 square metres. 30 jobs will be created. The workshop will be provided with modern metalworking equipment. The anticipated construction time is around six months. The investments will amount to 70 million roubles. This initiative will also make it possible to ensure considerable expansion of production volume.
Signing of an agreement between KOMPENZ Scientific and Production Corporation LLC and Intelligent Electronics – Valdai Innovation, Science and Technology Centre on establishing of a venture fund has become a yet another important event that took place during the ceremony. Ilyas Yagofarov explained that the fund in the amount of 1 billion roubles is created for fully-featured industrial implementation of certain ideas developed by the ISTC residents and/or by students.
“We, as a technology park, will be taking the idea, evaluating and implementing it. We understand what needs to be done in order for it to become a part of an industrial solution. We have a production project evaluation system to understand how each and every rouble will be spent,” Ilyas Yagofarov shared.
Konstantin Kharlamov, Board of Directors Chairman at Intelligent Electronics – Valdai Management Company, added that the KOMPENZ Group has a wealth of experience in growing fully-featured projects. And universities and innovation valleys, in turn, have a shortage of experience in the transition of an idea to fully-featured production. The fund will make it possible to combine the capabilities of the state in terms of support measures and selection of innovation projects which is performed at the ISTC with the developments generated by the growing industrial enterprise.
It should be added that Armaturz LLC is the manufacturer of pipe fittings for general industrial and special applications. The main consumers of its products are oil and gas processing enterprises, chemical companies, oil and gas transport enterprises, metallurgical companies, food industry representatives, etc. Armaturz is one of 7 residents at the Gagarin Technology Park. KOMPENZ Scientific and Production Corporation is the Technology Park’s management company.
The technology parks and business incubators function within the framework of the “Formation and Development of Modern Infrastructure in the Novgorod Region for Entities Involved in Investment and Business Activities” priority regional project. It is aimed at the increase of investment activity, support of small and medium-sized enterprises, and achievement of objectives of the “Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise” Presidential National Project.
