Denis Nosachev, Minister of Investment Policy of the Novgorod Region, spoke to members of the regional Public Chamber about the development of entrepreneurship and working with investors. The conversation took place at the chamber’s premises as part of the “Hour with the Government” event.
According to the head of the Ministry of Investment, 57 investment projects were completed in the region between 2021 and 2025 with the assistance of the Novgorod Region Development Agency. In total, business investments amounted to 48.6 billion rubles, and 2,460 jobs were created. Governor of the Novgorod Region Alexander Dronov paid attention to the importance of supporting investment projects in his message.
- This year, the implementation of 18 projects will be completed. In total, this amounts to 46.4 billion rubles, and it is planned to create 1,920 jobs as a result, noted Denis Nosachev. The minister highlighted the work of the residents of the Novgorodskaya SEZ. Together, they invested 4.5 billion rubles and created more than 600 jobs. Speaking about the development of small and medium sized businesses, the minister emphasized that the number of individual entrepreneurs, legal entities, and self employed individuals in the region continues to grow. Under the Presidential national project “Effective and Competitive Economy,” entrepreneurs are supported by infrastructure, the foundation of which is the “My Business” center. Five technology parks, two business incubators, and the “Trest” creative cluster are focused on attracting investors who are small and medium sized enterprises. 63 residents of these facilities have created 826 jobs.
Speaking about foreign economic activity, the minister noted that the products of regional industrial enterprises, food sector goods, and equipment for the oil and gas industry are in particular demand abroad.
A separate set of issues addressed by the head of the department concerned non profit organizations and the social mission of business. Today, NGOs and social entrepreneurs are increasingly operating in the same space: non profit organizations are adopting entrepreneurial models, obtaining the status of a social enterprise, and applying for the same support measures as small and medium sized enterprises.
Denis Nosachev reminded that the “My Business” center has a department that supports social entrepreneurship. It assists with the procedure for obtaining the status of a “social enterprise” and provides a wide range of various services.
