Governor of the Novgorod Region, Alexander Dronov, held an off site meeting of the regional government in Veliky Novgorod. The main issue was the socio economic development of the regional centre, the implementation of infrastructure projects and improving the quality of life of the city’s residents.
Veliky Novgorod plays a dominant role in the region’s economy. The key assets of the region are concentrated here: most of the large industrial enterprises, educational institutions, sports facilities, cultural institutions and social facilities. That is why the economic and social well being of Novgorod largely determines the situation in the region as a whole. We must keep this in mind when making literally every decision regarding its development, Alexander Dronov emphasized.
As Alexander Dronov noted, despite objective difficulties, the city is developing steadily. In particular, local enterprises are being actively modernized.
“Currently, 28 private investment projects are in the implementation stage, with a total investment volume of 50.3 billion rubles. As a result, it is planned to create an additional more than 1,800 new jobs, 865 of them this year,” Alexander Rozbaum, the mayor of Veliky Novgorod, said when reporting on the city’s development.
In Novgorod, there are 10,520 individual entrepreneurs and legal entities, as well as 14,810 self employed individuals.
