Materials for the aircraft industry are planned to be produced in the Novgorod Region

On August 31, a meeting of the Governor’s Council for Improving the Investment Climate was held at the Government of the Novgorod Region. It was chaired by the head of the region, Alexander Dronov. The council members were presented with investment projects of three Novgorod enterprises. Ilyas Yagofarov, General Director of the scientific and production concern “Kompenz”, spoke about the stages of the holding’s development and outlined plans for the near future. The total investment in the investment projects will amount to more than 2 billion rubles; it is planned to create 420 new jobs, 110 of which will be at the Novgorod Fiberglass Plant, which joined the concern last year. According to Ilyas Yagofarov, the Novgorod plant is one of the best producers of high quality fiberglass in Russia. As part of the investment project, it is planned to organize the production of heat and sound insulation materials for the domestic aircraft industry and hollow glass microspheres. “The main project involves investing in the development of a new type of microsphere, which is needed for a wide variety of applications, special purposes, and for medical and paint and varnish products. It is already clear what kind of re equipment will be required. Preliminary contracts for design have been signed, and we plan to deliver the equipment in April–May of next year,” said Ilyas Yagofarov. Production is expected to be launched within a year and a half. 900 million rubles have been allocated for this purpose.

The council members supported the project. Alexander Dronov instructed the administration of Veliky Novgorod to take over the access road to the plant and bring it up to standard within a year. Funds for this will be allocated from the regional road fund.

In addition, the governor instructed the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade to assist the concern “Kompenz” in establishing contacts with Federal Agency for Air Transport and shipbuilding corporations. “It will be necessary to organize cooperation with colleagues from the aircraft manufacturing corporation and further work out the issues where Novgorod produced goods might be in demand.” “It is fundamentally important here to have feedback, meetings, and interaction with specific enterprises,” Alexander Dronov emphasized.

The meeting also discussed an investment project for the reconstruction and technical re equipment of the Gutt Trailer company’s production facilities. A total of 670 million rubles will be allocated for its implementation. The investor plans to expand the workforce by 120 jobs and increase the number of units produced to 45 per month.
The young company specializes in the manufacture of unique trailed vehicles – trawls, container ships, logging trucks for individual requirements. According to Rudolf Merdian, CEO of "GutTrailer" LLC, the company is the only Novgorod manufacturer of trailers for the transportation of bridge beams. The investment project provides for the modernization of existing production facilities, the construction of a new workshop, the purchase of equipment, capacity building and the expansion of sales markets.

In addition, the council reviewed an investment project for the industrial cultivation of champignons, which is being implemented by the Uglovskaya Construction and Raw Materials Company. The investment required to launch the farm amounted to 140 million rubles. The project created about 70 jobs. Currently, the enterprise grows about 75 tons of mushrooms per month — champignons and oyster mushrooms; in the future, it is planned to reach 120 tons per month.

The company works with federal retail chains; its products are available in the "Magnit" chain of stores, and negotiations on cooperation with the "Pyaterochka" chain of stores are also underway. Alexander Dronov drew attention to the fact that Novgorod products must be prominently displayed on local shelves so that residents of Novgorod can buy their own high quality products.
The council members discussed the results of the National Investment Climate Rating in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. It should be recalled that the Novgorod Region ranked 6th in it. The region continues to demonstrate consistently high results across many indicators. According to Deputy Governor Oksana Belokrylova, the region has managed to move into the leading group in several areas. As part of the investment council meeting, awards were presented based on the results of the first regional “Taxpayer of the Year” competition. PJSC “Akron” was declared the winner. Diplomas were awarded to LLC “Splat”, CJSC “Proektstroy”, and individual entrepreneur Vladimir Slavny, who won the award in the “Taxpayer of the Year – Responsibility and Success” category.
