The All-Russian Register of Advanced Development Areas Residents in single-industry towns registered two enterprises from the Novgorod Region. Geron LLC received resident status in the Borovichi advanced development area, and VZMP-Valdai LLC received resident status in the Uglovka advanced development area.
Geron is implementing an investment project to launch production of industrial goods — threads from modacrylic and aramid. They are used in the field of industrial safety.
The agreement of intent to implement this investment project was signed in June at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The planned production capacity is expected to be reached in 2026.
VZMP-Valdai will launch production of granules and powders from natural stone. Investments in the project will exceed RUB 43 million.
“Geron LLC became the tenth resident of the Borovichi advanced development area. In total, they will invest RUB 1.6 billion in the district’s economy and create more than 800 jobs. Four residents of the Uglovka advanced development area, including VZMP-Valdai LLC, will invest about RUB 170 million and employ almost 200 specialists”,
Denis Nosachev, Minister of Investment Policy of the Novgorod Region, said.
It is worth mentioning that residents of the advanced development areas have the right to benefits: on income tax (5% — for five tax periods upon receipt of the first profit, 10% — for the next five tax periods), on property tax (full exemption — for five years, 50% exemption — for the next five years).
Advanced development areas operate within the framework of the top-priority regional project “Building and Developing Modern Infrastructure in the Novgorod Region for Entities Involved in Investment and Business Activities”.
It is aimed, among other things, at achieving the goals of the national project “Efficient and Competitive Economy”.
