Novgorod Region presented the practice of creating a special economic zone

The Minister of Investment Policy of the Novgorod Region Denis Nosachev and the Director of the Novgorodskaya SEZ Artur Ayupov took part in a demo day of effective regional practices on the issues of investment growth and industrial development. The event was held on January 31 on the initiative of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow on the territory of the Rudnevo Industrial Park of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ.

A presentation of the experience of interregional cooperation between the Novgorod Region and the Republic of Tatarstan on the issues of education and development of the Novgorodskaya SEZ took place as part of the large-scale event.

"We have gone through an interesting and unique path in creating the Novgorodskaya SEZ in partnership with colleagues from Alabuga: from the selection of the management team of the SEZ to interaction with potential residents. Since the summer of 2021, when the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on the establishment of the SEZ was signed, its area has increased by 100 hectares. Today, our SEZ has 12 residents. According to the results of 2024, the Novgorodskaya SEZ improved its result in the National Rating of Investment Attractiveness of Special Economic Zones of Russia - it rose from 20th to 16th place. The Novgorodskaya SEZ has become more recognizable on the map of preferential zones of the country. Modern production facilities with high-tech jobs are located on the territory of the SEZ. Currently, about 500 specialists are already working in the SEZ. In the future, the number of employees will increase to 1,600. It is also important that the launch of resident production facilities provides for cooperation with other manufacturers in the region, the creation of related jobs", - Denis Nosachev commented.

Along with this, one of the central events of the demo day was the discussion of new approaches in the National Rating of the Investment Climate in the regions of the Russian Federation. Let us recall that the Novgorod Region annually turns out to be among the leaders of the National Rating. The methodology, in particular, suggests paying more attention to the development of non-raw material non-energy exports in the regions and innovative infrastructure. This, among other things, will contribute to solving the tasks of the Federal project "Increasing investment activity", which is part of the National project "Efficient and competitive economy". Also, the participants of the demo day visited the practical training site of Moscow colleges, residents of the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow".
