From June 18 to 21, the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was held in St. Petersburg, in which the Novgorod Region traditionally took part.
Every year the forum impresses with its scale and energy, and this one is no exception! This year, the Novgorod Region appeared in all its greatness as a region where traditions are carefully preserved, while looking ahead with confidence. “Our stand “Valdai — Mirror of Russia” became a real discovery for the guests. Through the prism of Valdai’s unique nature, history and spirituality, we showed the essence and potential of the entire region — environmental friendliness, heritage, readiness for modern projects.
This is not just a stand, but a recognizable image of the Novgorod Region, which was remembered by partners and investors.
The guests were happy to try on the crown from the coat of arms of the region, rang the Valdai bells, took an interactive walk along the Great Valdai Trail and the Novgorod Detinets, enjoyed birdsong and the murmur of the waterfall! We also enjoyed delicious fruit drinks and marmalade from the Khvoyninsky District”, Viktor Bykov, Director of the Novgorod Region Development Agency, said.
But the SPIEF is not only about atmosphere, but also about serious results!
These days, the Novgorod Region signed a number of important agreements.
These are investment projects aimed at developing industry, digitalization, tourism, and cooperation with other regions.
The results of the National Rating of the Investment Climate in the Regions were summed up within the framework of the SPIEF. The Novgorod Region was among the TOP-10 regions with an attractive investment climate, and ranked ninth place. Being updated at the end of 2024, the rating methodology now includes 110 indicators in 8 areas, covering the entire investor journey.
Evgeny Bogdanov, First Deputy Governor of the Novgorod Region, emphasized that the region’s goal has been and remains to be among the top ten leaders.
“We rank ninth place and have accomplished our task.
Our business notes good support from the regional government: it is not even benefits and other support measures, not infrastructure development, but the attitude of government bodies.
Investors say that, seeing such support, they are ready to work in the Novgorod Region”,
