On March 24, a briefing was held at the My Business Center on the results of the business mission to the Republic of Kazakhstan. Opening the event, Viktor Bykov, Director of the Novgorod Region Development Agency, emphasized that the trip was short, from March 10 to 11, but very eventful and useful for the Novgorod business.
- I would like to note that Kazakhstan and the Novgorod Region are long–standing partners. Entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan have a high level of trust in our business. The warm welcome in the Republic has confirmed this," says Viktor Bykov.
The Novgorod delegation visited the city of Alma Ata. It included representatives of 6 companies: manufacturers of control valves for the oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical industries; soft drinks; furniture; industrial stationary batteries and heating equipment. The delegation was headed by First Deputy Governor Evgenii Bogdanov. According to the Vice-Governor, Kazakhstan is traditionally of interest to Novgorod businesses. This is not the first time that Novgorodians have visited Kazakhstan. However, they have previously traveled to other cities, such as Astana and Karaganda.
- This time we met with the Consul General of Russia in Kazakhstan Dmitrii Turaev. Governor of the Almaty region Marat Sultangaziev was presented with the economic potential of our region, agreed to develop cooperation and invited the region's leadership and entrepreneurs to pay us a return visit. We also met with the Atameken Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This organization unites almost all entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan and is ready to provide data and contacts to our entrepreneurs in the industries they are interested in. Perhaps we will be able to establish cooperation between the Chamber and our business associations," said Evgenii Bogdanov.
As part of the visit, there was also a meeting with a representative of a major bank, where they discussed the nuances of making payments in connection with sanctions. In addition, Evgenii Bogdanov and Viktor Bykov visited the Almaty Industrial Zone and the Alatau Technology Park.
- But the most important thing is that we organize meetings with local entrepreneurs for our business. This is what should bring the main result, - said Evgenii Bogdanov.
At the briefing, the founder of Russian Krai LLC (production of soft drinks) Marat Shulman and the general director of Elegia LLC (production of furniture) Andrey Nikitin thanked the regional government for the high level of organization of the business mission. Marat Shulman said that during the trip, he managed to hold negotiations with almost all retail chains in Kazakhstan.
- We have already discussed the possibility of signing contracts with several distributors. We have confirmed that our products are competitive in Kazakhstan. I think that we will start working in the Republic in the next month," said Marat Shulman.
Andrey Nikitin, in turn, said that about 8 fruitful meetings took place during the business mission.
- Two companies expressed a desire to come to Borovichi and get to know us better. Our company has been present in the Kazakhstani market for about 20 years. We are familiar with this market, but we are always looking for new connections to expand our presence, - says Andrei Nikitin. We should add that the business mission to Kazakhstan was organized by the Development Agency together with the regional government under the national project "International Cooperation and Export". The next business trip to Uzbekistan is scheduled for April.
