The country's first production of electro-welded fittings for polyethylene pipes was launched at the Borovichi enterprise Peterpipe.

The ceremony took place at the Peterpipe enterprise in Borovichi. It was attended by Alexander Dronov, Acting Governor of the Novgorod Region, and Sergey Gustov, CEO of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz LLC. The agreement on the implementation of this investment project was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum last year.
Peterpipe is one of the leading industrial enterprises in Russia. This is the first full-cycle factory for the production of electro-welded fittings from domestic raw materials. Fittings in the gas industry are special connecting elements that are used to create pipeline systems. Since the establishment of the company, more than 100 jobs have been created in the Novgorod Region, and more than 450 million rubles of taxes have been paid to budgets of various levels. Investments amounted to over 400 million rubles.
"Peterpipe is implementing its second project in Borovichi. The first was the production of polyethylene pipes, which are being used under the program of social gasification and gasification of the Novgorod region as a whole. Today we have opened the only production of electro-welded fittings in Russia. There are no analogues. Of course, this event is not only for Borovichi and the Novgorod region, but also for the gas industry as a whole. Before that, everything was purchased abroad, but today it is Russian production and components. This is the result of joint work," stressed Alexander Dronov.
The company's production capacity is over 1 million fittings per year. The company's products are already being used in the presidential infrastructure project and for gas supply to memorials in the Novgorod region. It is made exclusively from Russian raw materials.
"The implementation of the program for the development of gas supply systems in the Russian Federation, of course, is impossible without extensive work on the production and equipment of materials for its own gasification. This factory for the production of electro-welded fittings has a capacity of up to 1 million products per year. Fittings are needed for both gas pipelines and sewers. Given that we have two more such plants under construction in the country, we are already covering the needs of the Russian gas industry. All this became possible thanks to the joint efforts of Gazprom and the government of the Novgorod region. Today we already see products that are being shipped to our construction sites, and gasification is underway. Everything that is needed for the gasification of the country is produced in Russia and of excellent quality, in sufficient quantity, and most importantly, we are in no way dependent on external factors, even the raw materials are produced in Russia," said Sergey Gustov.
In 2025, the company plans to expand its product range with ball valves and flange connections for polyethylene pipes with investments of more than 100 million rubles. New machines and welding equipment will be purchased, and high-tech jobs will be created. It also planned the construction of a logistics center with an area of 1,296 m2. It will contain more than 250 thousand units of various products.
