The First Five-Star Hotel Opened in Veliky Novgorod

Grand opening of the Acron Hotel Veliky Novgorod, a member of Radisson Individuals five-star hotel took place in Veliky Novgorod. The ceremony was attended by Governor of the Novgorod Region Andrey Nikitin, Vice President of PJSC Acron Vladimir Kantor, Chairman of the Novgorod Regional Duma Yury Bobryshev, and President of the Dostoevsky International Theatre Arts Festival Mikhail Porechenkov.

The hotel is located in the historical centre of Veliky Novgorod. It has undergone major reconstruction and meets the highest international standards. The amount of investments made by the Acron Group exceeded two billion roubles.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Andrey Nikitin pointed out the high significance of opening a five-star hotel in the region and emphasised that Veliky Novgorod is moving to a new level in terms of tourist recognition.

“This is the first five-star hotel in our city, which makes us more competitive from the tourist industry point of view. It is an important contribution to the investment attractiveness of the Novgorod Region. Creation of new jobs, reaching new standards in the hospitality industry, opening new opportunities for our local business to interact with the Acron Group, it is all extremely important. I want to sincerely thank the colleagues for this project, and hope that all guests will feel comfortable and cosy here,” the Governor pointed out.

Vladimir Kantor pointed out that for PJSC Acron it is a contribution to the development of domestic tourism and economy in the region.

“We are very proud of the result that we managed to achieve. But it is not the opening of a five-star hotel, but the creation of new jobs that we feel the most proud about. Namely, 100 jobs and the opportunity of interaction with the Novgorod Region’s business community. This is a very important principle for us. Moreover, it is an absolutely new standard of quality, comfort and design. We have put in a lot of work in this project. And I hope that it will bring joy both to the people who visit our city and who live here,” Vladimir Kantor said.

Mikhail Porechenkov pointed out that opening of such an upscale hotel brings new perspectives.

“It is a big step in the development of the city because now visitors of Veliky Novgorod will be able not only to see and feel the history of our country, but also to rest in an excellent hotel, spend a weekend here, and get a lot of impressions,” said Mikhail Porechenkov and invited everyone to visit the Dostoevsky International Theatre Arts Festival.

Yury Bobryshev, Chairman of the Novgorod Regional Duma, also shared a few words of congratulation.

“It is a new standard, a new level. And our city, Veliky Novgorod is now very different from what it was 7 years ago. So a hotel of such high standard has appeared here right on time. It was designed and built with great love and care, and it’s not surprising, because Acron is a hallmark of our city. For many decades the company has been investing a lot of money in the development of the region. And this hotel is yet another gift to Veliky Novgorod,” Yury Bobryshev said.

The hotel has 50 rooms in seven categories, from Standard to Presidential Suite. A multi-profile fitness centre with a swimming pool, as well as Proun haute cuisine panoramic restaurant on the hotel’s top floor managed by the Burmistrov Group, are available to the hotel guests.
