The opening ceremony for the first production building of the Novgorodskaya special economic zone took place on June 12, attended by the Deputy Head of The Presidential Executive Office Maxim Oreshkin and the Governor of the Novgorod Region Andrei Nikitin.
The Novgorodskaya Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is a major investment initiative in the Novgorod Region. The first production facility has been completed and is now fully occupied. The Novgorod regional government is leading the development of this SEZ, drawing on the expertise of the Alabuga SEZ in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Maxim Oreshkin emphasized that the project has reached its final stage, with production buildings and new facilities now operational at full capacity. This 100% occupancy, which Andrei Sergeyevich had successfully presented to the President of Russian Federation, is a clear indicator of the project's successful development. The team's efforts have resulted in the creation of many of new jobs, and Oreshkin stated that the project will continue to grow, establishing a powerful new production cluster in the Novgorod Region.
Eleven organizations have been granted resident status in the special economic zone to date. At the opening ceremony, Andrei Nikitin noted that there is still a significant amount of work ahead. On the day of the production building's inauguration, two new enterprises commenced operations: "Energotek" LLC, an innovative manufacturer of polymer systems for cable line installation and protection, and "Novye truby" JSC, which has launched production of polyethylene pipes for utility network construction.
