The United District Competition Committee of the All-Russian “Exporter of the Year” Award has determined the winners in the North-West Federal District. The Novgorod companies are among the best.
The children’s clothing brand Bodo took two second places: in the nomination “Exporter of the Year in Industry” (SME) and “Best Exporter in Electronic Commerce” (SME).
Novgorodproduct LLC, which exports beet sugar and also provides warehousing and logistics services, won silver award in the Trader of the Year (Large Business) category.
ZSM Iskadaz Ltd, an exporter of industrial and agricultural equipment, took first place in the Responsible ESG Exporter of the Year (SME) category. Iskadaz will participate in the All-Russia stage of the award and can claim the title of the best exporter in the country.
“The Novgorod business community has once again represented the region honourably at the regional stage of the awards. These are well-deserved awards in the ‘piggy bank’ of our entrepreneurs’ professionalism and confirmation of the efficiency of their export activities. Despite external restrictions, Novgorod businessmen feel confident in foreign markets and find new partners. In 2023, the region’s exports to Iran increased by 16 times and to the UAE by 7 times. The current year’s pace is good too. Volume of deliveries to Turkmenistan increased by 55 times, to Azerbaijan by 80%, and to Abkhazia and Armenia by 40%. In the current year, the commodity structure of exports shows a 14 per cent growth in food products, 29 per cent growth in timber, and 91 per cent growth in textiles”, commented Denis Nosachev, Minister for Investment Policy of the Novgorod region.
It should be noted that the competition for the “Exporter of the Year” award is held within the framework of the national projects “International Cooperation and Export” and “Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise” with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. The award is given to organisations and individual entrepreneurs who have achieved the greatest success in the export of non-resource, non-energy goods, works, services, and results of intellectual activity.
